filling out a rental application while on EI

How do I fill out the employer section of a rental application while on EI?

How do you fill out the employment section of a rental application (employer's name, length of employment, and employer's phone number) when you're receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits? My benefits are good for several more months, and my income is more than sufficient to cover my living and rental expenses. I'm in BC, Canada. Thanks.

I don't think you would. If there's a space for a source of additional income, I'd list UI there. I also don't see very many landlords approving such an application, particularly if your UI benefits expire before the end of the lease. But who knows. Worst they can say is no.

Is there a section for "Other Income" because I wouldn't fill out the employer section (since there is no employer) and would include that income in the other part.

If that wasn't available I'd put Employment Insurance as the employer and the amount in the salary box and not include any other information.
