Where did the torture photos go?

Anyone know whatever happened to the rest of the "Rape and Torture" Darby photos? Last I had heard a judge ordered their release. but then I've never heard about them again. That court order was dated over three months ago, seems a pretty big story to disappear without a so much as a whimper.

The government has filed a notice of appeal of that order, but I don't think any briefs have been filed yet at the appeals court. Stay tuned. It could take a while.

The case is bigger than just the Abu Ghraib photos, though. Here's the latest ACLU press release. The ACLU has posted a bunch of other documents it's already gotten access to through the suit.

I sent the Portland branch of the ACLU an email back on January 28th and just now got this reply:

"I apologize for this very late response. Here is the most recent update on the release of the Abu Gharib photos and videos:

[the linked release is from April 11th, 2006 and is titled ACLU Releases First Government Authentication of Abu Ghraib Abuse Images Along With One New Photo]
I hope this article answers your questions.

Again, I apologize for this late response. We receive many emails from the public daily and it takes time for us to get back to everyone.
