Ice cream quest

Where can I find a Purdy's ice cream bar equivalent in Toronto?

When I used to live in Vancouver I loved the chocolate-dipped, nut-covered ice cream bars that the local chocolate store Purdy's would sell. Laura Secord seems like the closest thing to a Purdy's here in Toronto, but I don't think they have it. Any suggestions?

Not sure if it's seasonal or not, but Ed's Real Scoop in the Beaches had nut-encrusted ice cream bars during the summer. I think Greg's Ice Cream by the ROM had some too, but don't hold me to that.

Greg's is at Spadina and Bloor now, and I don't think they have chocolate-dipped bars, but I could be wrong. I'd like to be wrong.

Purdys.com reveals they're pursuing aggressive expansion into Ontario. Check out their stores in Brampton, Oakville, Oshawa, Mississauga, Newmarket and Vaughan. (Where the heck is Vaughan?)

Maybe you could call and see if any of them have ice cream. All the stores here in Vancouver do, I think.

Vaughn is one of the Toronto suburbs/exburbs. Actually, all of those places are.

I know, in fact, that there's a Purdy's store in Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket. I don't know if they have ice cream, though.

Purdy's is one of the high points of visiting Victoria. I pack up when I'm there.

If you've any reason to go to a trade show, conference or convention, there are usually booths selling them at both Metro and National Convention Centers when there are major trade shows going on. I can't imagine they're as good as Purdy's, though.
