Motorola Z (force) moto display

I need a new phone, but I don't want to lose my favorite feature.

My current phone (Droid Turbo) has moto display that can be activated by waving my hand over the device. Turns out I use that feature a lot, so when my boss got the Droid Maxx 2 I was surprised it didn't have that feature. (Does have moto display, but doesn't activate just by waving hand.) I'm thinking about the Z or Z Force and they also have moto display, but it doesn't indicate whether they have the "approach" feature. Does anyone have a Z or Z Force that can say one way or the other? (It's under Apps -> Moto -> Actions - "Approach for Moto Display" on my current phone.)

I think it is only on the Moto X. I think after Lollipop, it has only worked on the Moto X. I would contact Motorola customer service and ask them outright what phones still have it. Or, ask your carrier (Verizon?).

The OnePlus 3 has similar functionality, called "Proximity Wake" in the display menu. It's not as sensitive as the (2014) Moto X, but it definitely works.

Best answer: This review says the Z and Z Force has the feature.

They definitely carried this feature over to the Z. I'm on a 2014 Moto X and while I don't want to go much bigger, I also can't bear the thought of losing this feature. It's that useful.
