Anyone know how to find out if there is any fiber optic service in the Glendale/Montrose/La Crescenta/ Tujunga general area? (within say five miles of this area?) The Verizon, Time Warner etc. fiber optic "search availability" functions are really vague... even if you get them on the phone, they tell you to provide a specific address. How can they not have some sort of record of where they have laid cable??

Best answer: They want an address to check if they already have a fiber run installed there. If not, then expensive digging will be involved. But that conversation also starts with knowing an address.

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you looking for space to lease that already has fiber installed (an on-net building)?

Response by poster: actually want to rent an apartment or guesthouse in an area where there is fiber optic high speed internet for home use... in the southern California east San Fernando valley area
