Can I do these things with Spotify?

In Spotify, is it possible to 1) find a list of public playlists in which a particular song appears? 2) automatically combine two or more of my own playlists?

For 2 on the desktop app you can create a folder and put the playlists you want to combine in it, then play that folder. I have that for a dance playlist- it's a folder called dance and has playlists like '80s' and '90s' and I can play them individually or all combined.

1) This is a popular open feature request. As of last September, Spotify confirmed that they're still considering it.

2) I'm not sure what you mean by "automatically" (that is, what you want to trigger it), but it is possible to select all of the tracks in one playlist and drag-and-drop them to append them to a second playlist. If there are duplicate tracks, Spotify will warn you and you can choose to add the track anyway or to skip it.
