Quiet(ish) restaurant in DTLA?

I'm looking for places to eat in Downtown LA that would be good for a date and that wouldn't be so loud as to inhibit conversation during dinner. Nothing extravagantly expensive. Thanks!

Best answer: Pok Pok in Chinatown isn't terribly loud. Pour Haus is also good for conversation. Everson Royce is okay if you sit on the patio, but it's chilly. Bier Biestel is not open on Monday or Tuesday, alas.
Almost all the very trendy spots, like Bestia, Petty Cash or Factory Kitchen will be pretty loud. Redbird is pricey but great for a dinner date.

Best answer: The patio at Maccheroni Republic would work I think

Best answer: I was at Redbird the other night, though not on a date, but I agree it would be good for one, if it isn't too pricey for what you're thinking. In fact, we went last minute, so we couldn't get a table reservation, but we ate at the bar, which I don't always like doing, but it was a large bar, with good seating, and it worked well.

Otium was also recommended to me, though it may be equal to or more expensive than Redbird.

Best answer: Colori Kitchen is quiet and not extravagantly expensive (not cheap but reasonable). Possibly relevant: If I remember correctly, they don't sell wine but there's either no or a surprisingly small corkage fee if you bring your own.
