Must not involve shooting alien Nazis in the face...

I have a shiny new PlayStation 4! Can you recommend find non-violent games?
I'm a big fan of the cathartic aspects of shooting digital bad guys with a shotgun, and there are many, many games that can help me satisfy that urge.
But the Red Thoughts consort doesn't like shooting games. Can you help me find games that she could play? She has in the past loved the Katamari games, and Telltale's Walking Dead games, which are conversation based. I'm going to buy Life is Strange and Firewatch, but what else is out there?

Everybody's Gone To the Rapture. And Gone Home.

The new Ratchet & Clank comes out in April. It's not so much shooting as it is blasting randomly and hopping around. I'm not into shooters at all, but I really love R&C.

All the Lego games are (perhaps surprisingly) delightful; the Marvel one out for PS4 is a great open world one with many many hours of noodling around.
The Witness is available on PC as well as PS4, it's an exploration puzzle game in the vein of Myst.
Journey is a must have, do not hesitate to get it.
She might like Child of Light, which does involve turned based RPG combat but is basically a gorgeous storybook.
Grow Home is great fun but IMO doesn't have much replayability.
Many of the non-violent games on PS4 are also available on Steam for PC, so if she's finding herself getting more into games but stymied by the focus on shooting and murder in console games, consider pointing her towards Steam. Downside, less use of the PS4. Upside, essentially backwards compatibility.

Ditto The Witness, Gone Home, Grow Home, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and Journey. Also thatgamecompany's earlier title Flower has been ported over to PS4.
There are some other Telltale series on the ps4...we're getting into territory of stuff I haven't played, but Tales from the Borderlands seems to have gotten decent press and there's also a Game of Thrones one, but I think the reception on that was less strong.

Best answer: Until Dawn is a choice-driven adventure game with the plot of a cheesy horror B-movie. It's pretty solid.

Best answer: Came here to recommend Journey, pleased it has already been mentioned.
So instead I will add: Life is Strange. It's a choice-based story game about a teenage hipster girl who gets the power to go back in time, just a little bit (minutes) and change things. She unravels a bizarre mystery in town and has to make some big decisions about what to do with the information.

Little Big Planet 3. It's not quite as good as the first two, and it's still silly madcap foolishness. With Stephen Fry narrating!
