late 90s r&b song identification

There was a duet in the late 90s sung by r&b artists...one male, one female. Only thing I can remember is that it was a love song, it had a lot of bass and one of the lyrics was about Al Green. The singers went back and forth as if they were in a relationship, I believe.

Long shot here...

I don't think they were superstar artists and I don't think the song was ever commercially popular but I could be wrong.

Help me reminisce. I miss that song.

Big Daddy Kane and Spinderella

I met BDK once. Well, he walked by me in a studio and smiled.

The original is by Debra Laws and Ronnie Laws. Ronnie was my aunt's high school crush.
