Near to last minute vacation ideas needed! (east Asia edition)

I get the bulk of my Lunar New Year vacation two weeks after most people do here--I've got five, maybe six days lined up. Where should I go?

My original plans were to go with family to go to China (Nanjing, Huang-shan, etc.), but I would like to make back up plans should they fall through. I would like to see more of East Asia, which I've seen relatively little of aside from my point of origin (Taiwan), (extremely little) bits of China, Bangkok and Singapore.

The priority would be to relax in nature, do some walking but not fly away too far in order to make the most of the days I have.

Thanks in adv!

Myanmar is relatively close, super cheap, full of nice people, amazing food, and the countryside is crazy beautiful.

I went to Cebu about a year ago. It's only about 4 hours from Taiwan, it's really nice, although anyone new to the Philippines should stay at a resort, and stay at a resort that offers a shuttle from the airport.

Seoul is also an obvious choice and of course Japan. We were in Nagasaki about a year ago and it's pretty awesome. Great food, and great booze. I would recommend a day trip to Shimabara and the hot springs at Obama.
