Finding songs on an iTunes playlist?

I had an iTunes library with some important playlists. I then deleted all the songs. The playlists are still there. How can I extract the names of the songs from the playlist?

Help! I just need the filenames. Any ideas? I still have the computer, so if there was a record anywhere on my comp that would be another way to find it. I have a MacBook Air with Yosemite. I don't have it backed up from that time either.

There should be some playlist files with the extension M3U that you can open with a text editor. Check in your iTunes folder, but if they are not there, search the whole computer.

Select the desired playlist within iTunes, then choose "Library -> Export Playlist..." from the "File" menu. The subsequent dialog gives you several options for the export format, including plaintext, XML, and M3U. That should give you what you want.
