Nonprofit or government job resources Portland OR

Ever had to search for a nonprofit or government job in Portland? What resources did you use?
Tentatively looking around for other job opportunities. Particularly interested in gaining experience with grant writing or research/analysis, would be interested in program management positions as well - all of these in my background, though more program management/admin support than other things.
Am doing some research into specific organizations and may start scanning LinkedIn soon and stalking people in the areas that I'm interested in, but was wondering what places are good to go to find job listings. Already receiving Idealist.org alerts, but wanted to know if there was something more local?
Thanks!

Best answer: Craigslist, definitely, but what you really want is Mac's List.

Idealist.org is a good job search website for non-profits. Ironically, the website itself is headquartered in Portland.

A friend of mine got a job with the city by looking at their openings each week and applying to some of them.

My employer uses a recruitment software called NeoGov, which posts all available jobs on governmentjobs.com.

I work for the state; their jobs are posted here. Most of the jobs will be in Salem, but quite a few are in the Portland area too!

As you narrow your search to a particular agency, consider getting an internship or volunteering to start to get to know key folks in the agency and develop internal contacts that will help you with your job search. If you are in school or have recently finished school, there are a number of programs under the Pathways umbrella through which you could get a foot in the door for a temp or permanent position.
