Hot in Phoenix (Getting there with a garage gym)

What special considerations should I be thinking about in leaving electronic equipment in temperatures that range from 40s in the winter to 115 and above in the summer in a garage home gym?

I can get outside for cardio most of the year (the allergies, not the heat, get me in the summer).

Specifically, I'd like some free weights, a mirror, rubber flooring, maybe a piece of aerobic equipment ... but also possibly a television so I can stream exercise videos.

Would a television be dead in a day at 115 degrees? I also plan to purchase a portable heating/cooling machine. Any other ideas?

Best answer: If you're going to be keeping it in an covered garage, it should be fine. I would keep it away from the door or any outside walls that get direct sun to be safe. If you're really concerned about the garage being too hot, you might want to invest in a ventilation fan. But remember, lots and lots of people in the desert keep things stored in garages all year round and aside from very temperature sensitive things, they're no worse for wear. It can get to 115-120 in the summer, but it won't be that hot in a closed garage, and as for the winter, again, its covered and should be getting residual heat from the house.
