Looking for a Play Laboratory..... Like a play kitchen, but with science

I remember seeing a blog post or article about a play laboratory or mad science set that someone made for their kid. It was a small piece of furniture with laboratory accessories and places to store them, just like a play kitchen set. It came with a lab coat and test tubes. Might have been BoingBoing, but I can't find it. Help?

Response by poster: I should clarify that we recently received some awesome science play stuff like plastic test tubes and a talking microscopes, and I'm looking specifically for an article describing the type of small furniture piece that could contain and organize them.

Here are a few fun things from Kohls.

Here's a lab coat for kids.

Here's a lab cart.

And a microscope.

Sounds fun!

Best answer: I would look at repurposing a play kitchen too. The one from Ikea is fairly sturdy and 'wood' (by which I mean, Ikea laminate stuff, but totally paintable. It has 'burners' and a 'sink', but either could be easily swapped out for more science things. It could easily have a 'test tube rack' and appropriate decals added. My DD uses hers as a her 'vet clinic' and could easily be repainted to be a human hospital or other thematic center.

Best answer: If you can't find the specific article you were looking for, the IKEA play kitchen (with or without the hutch) and workbench standing together would be a pretty awesome little laboratory setup. They are both unadorned with stickers etc. so they're a nice blank slate for transforming them into whatever you want them to be.
