Any information on this charm?

Found this charm in Chicago. Can anyone help identify it? Imgur link. The sun is frowning which seems unusual to me. Googling led me to Masonic suns but not sure about that.

It's not frowning, it's an Aztec or Mayan sun motif. The mouth is open.

Here's a link that says the motif is Peruvian/Inca.

Response by poster: Any idea what it means or represents?

It's the sort of earring or pendant you might buy as a souvenir in Mexico or from a vendor at a street fair. If you Google image search "Mexican sun moon earring" or "sun moon jewelry" you'll see some similar examples. Popular with New Age/boho dressers.
