Housemates in my room?

I've had loose change move or disappear in the last few weeks, and some of the items on my desk have seemed to have been moved or shuffled through. I'm seeking recommendations for smaller webcams that I could use to monitor my personal space.

I've been renting a room in a house with two other renters and have not had any real problems, but in the last couple of weeks I've had loose change move or disappear, and some of the items on my desk have seemed to have been moved or shuffled through.

Putting a lock on the door really is not an option at this time, nor is picking up and moving. Although we all entertain sometimes, there really is not a lot of random traffic through the living space. Finances are ok for everybody; so none of this is costly per se; but it is a disturbing happening to encounter and I would like to be able to have some form of ?proof? before I even speak about it, and if this is a version of some weird 'ha ha, just meant to bother you' practical joke; I still want to be able to solidly say 'No, this is not funny/amusing'.

I'm seeking recommendations for a good PC webcam, cordless preferred, with motion capture, that I can discretely use IN MY OWN SPACE to monitor my own environment. Being able to remotely monitor (i.e. while I am at work) is a +.

The Nest Cam is probably the most turnkey and chic at the moment, but there's several options, many with live video over your phone and emailed images on motion detection and stuff like that.

Do you or someone you know have a spare/old iPhone lying around? If so, Manything would work.

You rule this out, but putting a lock on the door would be quick, cheap, and easy -- you can get a new keyed door handle for ~$15 at Home Depot (etc.) and have it installed in 5 minutes. I'm not mechanically minded at all and was shocked at how easy it was. Might be worth it for the peace of mind.
