Have you seen a flying pony?

Trying to remember this book/story. Girl lives in an apartment. Father is away a lot. He brings or sends her a present - a flying pony that she keeps on the roof of her building.

The whole book/story could be about the girl and her pony, or maybe not. The book title may have included the girl's name. It may have been set in Europe. Does it ring a bell for anyone?

Oh, and if anyone has a flying pony that needs a home, I have a nice roof and lots of air space.
