I remember it was a talk show from the 90s, probably. And this guy, maybe famous, was talking/rambling about religion and the universe. I think I came across it because of a clip in a Godspeed You! Black Emperor song, or maybe A Silver Mt. Zion.

You may have mixed up your postrocks with Mogwai's Repelish up in there, that has guy talking about Satanic backmasking in Stairway to Heaven over the track.

Best answer: 1970s, not 90s: Iggy Pop meets Peter Gzowski (video with with Mogwai overlaid). He does mention "soul" near the beginning, which is why you're thinking religion.
