Short film or TV episode with a winter horror theme

A campus horror movie group I attend has asked me to pick something short to open their December screening. We're after something with a wintry plot. Christmas horror suggestions are welcome too. A friend is screening a 90 minute movie after me, so the longest I could get away with is a 44 minute TV episode.
Even though it's a horror group, we're very flexible on format and genre – anything that creeps you out.
Last December they screened Rare Exports Inc. followed by the full Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale, so that's off the table.

The X-Files episode "Ice", which is not entirely dissimilar to The Thing (and was influenced by the film and the original short story).

Five Characters in Search of an Exit I think is actually set around Christmastime.

Response by poster: Lyn, that "Ice"/Thing connection could spark a great discussion! I'll rewatch it tonight.
Definitely planning to huddle under blankets and watch all the suggestions in this thread. Keep 'em coming.

There's a Santa-themed Tales From the Crypt episode that would fit the bill.

The debut episode, if memory serves.

You could have this dramatization of Jack London's short story "To Build a Fire". About 50 mins.

Best answer: "Silent Snow, Secret Snow," specifically the 15-minute short film from 1966 (YouTube version). I did a post on it a few years back if you want more background.

The Tales from the Darkside episode "Seasons of Belief" is genuinely terrifying.

X-files also did a Christmas episode, How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, which is also awesome.

Definitely the X-files Ice! Works as a fine standalone if people aren't familiar with the series. Legitimately creepy, good story, well-acted.

"Changing Nature," the final episode of Dinosaurs, is not exactly traditional horror, but it is bleak as hell. And has a wintry theme.

I remember staring slack-jawed at the Dinosaurs finale, so yeah, that's a good one.

Response by poster: Some of these TV suggestions are bringing back great memories. Or repressed ones, in the case of that Dinosaurs finale! Wow.
Rhaomi, "Silent Snow, Secret Snow" is so ponderous and hypnotic. Thanks for that.
Might take me a couple days to choose. Hitting F5 on an AskMeFi thread is like neverending Christmas morning.

It's too long but maybe you could edit it down.
White Christmas, (Black Mirror) as it has three mini-stories.
It certainly creeped me out and is maybe a different type of horror from standard types. I will never forget the concept of a "human cookie" and the ease with which a soul can be tortured for millennia. Woah... Maybe not the fun horror you're looking for.
