Google Groups: how to redirect (to another group) a moderated message?

I maintain several related groups. Sometimes people post a message to the general group (which is moderated) and it should really be sent to one of the specialized topic groups. What is the best way to redirect a message while it is in moderation?

In the Groups moderation interface, I cannot find a way to redirect a pending message to another group; the only option seems to be to reject the message outright, but when I do that, Google Groups does not even offer a way for me to include an explanatory message along with the rejection, so I can't tell the sender why I did it (namely, that they should send their message to another group). I can look up the sender's email address, and send them a separate explanatory message, but that's time-consuming, indirect, and separates the explanation from the rejection, which may leave some people confused and/or annoyed. I don't want to put off people from posting, especially new people who might not even know there is more than one group.

What do other people do in this situation? Is there a more direct way to redirect a message to another group, or at least to contact the sender directly to explain what they should do and why their message is being rejected?

(Back when we used mailman mailing lists, I would reject the message but include an explanation that the message belongs in another mailing list, and kindly ask the sender to please resend it there. We've been using Google Groups for a couple of years now, but this part of the system still has never been satisfactory for me. I feel stupid having to ask because I can't possibly be the only one with this problem ... Maybe Google Groups users just go about this whole situation in a completely different way?)
