A long-shot find-me-this-book question, academic edition! A friend has mislaid the title of a book he needs on Mexican popular religion. Do you know the book, or where else on the Internet might be a good place to ask?

Here's all the info I have:

The book itself is on increased Afro-Caribbean presence in Mexico and the effects of this on popular religion. It may have included some historical overview, but it was mostly about the current time period and how these cultural shifts are taking places with increased immigration of Afro-Carribean populations.

- It was published recently (last 15 years).
- He is 85% sure it has a blue cover.
- There is a picture inside of a shelf, with figures of La Santa Muerte, Pomba Gira, Marta Dominadora, and the Virgin Mary together.
- The author was of Hispanic/Latino/Mexican origin.

Thanks y'all!

Best answer: Could he be thinking of the chapter by Angela Casteñeda titled "The African Diaspora in Mexico: Santería, Tourism, and Representations of the State" in the edited volume titled The African Diaspora and the Study of Religion?

Response by poster: Mystery solved! My friend found his book again. The cover wasn't blue and also he forgot to mention it was actually IN Spanish which explains why none of us could find it. It is, for anyone who might be interested, Etnografias de La Muerte y Las Culturas en America Latina.

(But he also hasn't read that chapter you mention, drlith, so thanks!)
