Hi Brilliants! Can anyone point me in the direction of a novel, article, documentary, film, tv show, etc. that is about Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners or S.A.N.E. nurses? I am doing research for a written piece. I'm mostly interested in what their lifestyle is like, any challenges they face, etc. Thanks so much for your help!

There are some threads about SANEs in the Forensic Nursing section of allnurses.com.

I don't know of any media, but I know the SANE nurses in Madison, WI are at Meriter Hospital and are fantastic. I have heard one anecdote from them, which is that some patients come in many, many times with clearly false reports, and they have to start turning them away and refusing to examine.

I did my SANE course under Kathy Bell, one of the pioneers of the field. It can be difficult but it's like all nursing in that regard. Send MeMail with questions, if you like.
