Halloween Costume Idea: Character Portmanteau Edition

Give me some ideas for fun Halloween costumes that splice together 2 popular characters (or attributes). Bonus for ease of creation & movement.

Yup, it's yet another Halloween costume question. (Sorry! I promise I read them, but they're just all so individual!)

I saw what I thought was a pretty great costume for Dumbledora the Explorer online -- it's super easy to "get" the references, funny & clever, unexpected, and doesn't look too terribly difficult to make. I'd like to think of a similar mashup for myself this year, but all I can think of is, like, Harry Pothead. Meh ... could be fun, but not my specific thing.

What characters, famous figures, historical, fictional or otherwise can y'all think of that would go together? I like scifi and would love to incorporate something nerdy, but it's more important to me that the costume be easily recognizable or a part of pop culture.

I'm a 5-4" female with dark shoulder-length hair, part Asian, a bit curvy (i.e. ... I can do fitted but I'm not about to put on a catsuit). I'm pretty crafty and am happy to DIY specific elements, but I'm flying to visit friends over the Halloween weekend, so the components need to be things I can pack pretty easily and/or aren't too difficult to source.

Thanks, guys!

Assuming you're not going to be anywhere in the Portland area, feel free to use Pumpkin Spice Lumpy Space Princess, or PSLSP, for short. It's a costume that combines all the lumpy goodness of one of the many enjoyable Adventure Time characters, with the added comfort of Ugg boots and a puffy orange vest.

All I have to do? Wear orange clothing, carry around a Starbucks cup filled with drinkable goodness, and work on my extreme Valley Girl accent.

"Batmanatee" is what keeps running through my brain for some reason (a manatee dressed as Batman?)

Best answer: Try the search term Jeopardy Before and After. Here's a Celebrity Before and After quiz with some good ones - John Wayne Gretzky, Lil' Kim Jong-il, Bea Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. And some here. And a few here. (Excellent idea for a costume!)

... well, I'm doing Ellen Ripley mashed up with Bettie Page (although probably more of a generic pin-up girl in the end rather than Page specifically). I was just going to be Ripley because I was Ripley last year and already had the costume but then I cut my bangs too short and just decided to roll with it. Feel free to steal. Basically, Ripley jumpsuit + low heels + pin-up girl makeup (and maybe the outfit over a pin-up girl-ish bra, but that's totally optional). I am also doing this because the whole idea makes me laugh.

I ordered my Alien-related patches online, and while time might be tight for that, if you can get the jumpsuit/coveralls (I bought these and depending on where you are, you may be able to find them in person) you can probably fake them well enough with paint.

My pet idea has been "Jake from State Farm" with Jake the dog from Adventure Time. My friends have not been as amused by this idea as I am.

Wear a striped suit with a fedora, tiara, fairy wings and a toy machine gun...Fairy Godfather. If you want to make it a triple, hand out cheap tooth brushes and floss picks.

Dr Frankenstuffins. Have a frankensteined teddy bear/rabbit/turtle/etc. Doc McStuffins is pretty recognizable, so it ought to work.
