Apps for healing from trauma/abuse?

I'm looking for recommendations for an app that's a workbook for emotional healing. I've used (and liked) The Courage To Heal workbook and would be interested in something like that, but in app form. The specific focus could be anxiety, trauma, abuse, healing from narcissistic relationships, etc etc. For various reasons it needs to be text only (no audio or video). I'm also open to suggestions of other similar workbooks in book form. Thank you!

The app PTSD Coach was created by the VA for veterans suffering from PTSD, and I found it extremely helpful because it encouraged me to reflect on and keep track of my symptoms.

Another app for emotional well-being (not specific to trauma) is Pacifica, which sends reminders to engage in healthy activities and set goals to improve your well-being.

(And PTSD Coach is not combat-trauma specific, in case the VA link implies that. It's got a lot of really good information and suggestions/activities applicable PTSD from all sources.)

Slightly off topic, but you might wish to consider the very excellent "Neurofeedback in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma: Calming the Fear-Driven Brain". I believe this is an area that is going to be getting a LOT of attention in the near future. Develpmental trauma is a cousin of PTSD, tends to be less event driven and more born of adverse childhood experience over a period of time. To find more you could search Center for Disease Control and adverse childhood experience ACE. Also excellent, "The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma". Both of these books pay a lot of attention to the brains physiological response to trauma and how to ameliorate the impact.

I think there is an app called Calm which is decent for short guided meditation as well.

good luck, jcw
