Goldfish and mosquitos

Do goldfish in a small pond eat mosquito eggs before they turn into wrigglers or do mosquitos know enough to avoid ponds with goldfish? In either case, mosquito larvae never seen in the pond.

I don't know what a wriggler is but goldfish will eat mosquitos in the larval stage of development. If by wriggler you mean the pupae, yeah, the fish eat them before they get to that stage.

I've had rain barrels and stock tanks with goldfish in them, and my impression was that the goldfish were eating the wrigglers, not the eggs. That's a totally unscientific impression, though, just casual observation.
