Where to list a NYC furnished apartment?

I am renting a furnished/corporate apartment in Manhattan. I need to move out ASAP, so I'd like to find someone to replace me. Other than Craigslist or Airbnb, where can I list this furnished apartment for my landlord?

My company asked me to go on a brief foreign assignment, as soon as practicable. I am renting a furnished apartment in Manhattan now, and the lease ends in December. Landlord would release me from the lease if I (or he) find someone acceptable, but he said "not from Craigslist." I don't think Airbnb or VRBO listing would work either, because the landlord wants a tenant for 3 months or more. The new person can take over my lease, or s/he can sign a longer lease.

It's a nice furnished/corporate unit, so it's not cheap for a 1 BR, even by Manhattan standards. Are there websites or brokers who specialize in this sort of thing, so I can list with them?

There was a similar question two years ago, but that doesn't quite get at my situation.

Go to Rent Linx , when you post there once, it puts it up on about 15 different sites- a few of them very popular!
You can click a box if you don't want to be on any particular site (I remember one was only for Dog and Cat owners). If you need to edit, it will edit all of them too. So much better than Craig's list.

I also gave my income and credit rating criteria - and explained they would have to submit a credit and background report through Experian Connect. (This will cost THEM 15.00$ which I explained as soon as they contacted me)

Those two things saved me a lot of time and trouble, Good luck!

Try contacting local universities. Faculty who are going to take sabbatical in an NYC-based institution are generally looking for something furnished for around six months or possibly more. New faculty generally are looking for a place to stay until they can find something permanent.

Your landlord will probably be keen on faculty as tenants - they're employed and associated with a stable institution.
