How can I choose a shoe that will hopefully fit my foot by this Friday?

Almost last minute wedding guest shoe guidance needed, complicated by healing swollen sprained ankle. How can I choose a shoe that will fit my foot by Friday?

After falling down the stairs and suffering a severe sprain to my left ankle and foot last Saturday, I'm attending a wedding on Friday and still have no shoes to wear. I had intended to buy some low heels, but feel like that's a poor choice now being that I'll still need some ankle stability. I'm resting, icing and elevating as possible. Flats seem like an obvious choice, but are there some out there that are more forgiving to a foot and ankle that is now still slightly swollen?

Any recommendations for such a thing that would also work with this dress would be much appreciated!

I'd wear an ankle bandage for support and get strappy flat sandals to fit around the ace bandage.

Seconding slateyness. I think any kind of enclosed shoe like a ballet flat is going to be difficult to size if you have one swollen foot and one normal foot, so I'd stick to sandals. That is a gorgeous dress! With the purple I'd go with metallic sandals with an adjustable strap like this and wear it with an ace bandage. This style is prolific right now, so you should be able to easily find a variation that you like in Macys, Nordstrom, Aldo, Nine West, whatever store you have easy access to. Gold or silver/pewter would look great with the purple depending on how you prefer to accessorize it.

If you wanted to wear an actual ankle brace, then I think fancy thongs like these would be perfectly acceptable, too, if straps won't accomodate a brace.

I would wear some lace-up 'granny boots', fashion be damned. Much better to be the guest with slightly unfashionable shoes (that no one is likely to notice anyway, since you're not in the wedding party) than to be remembered as the guest who tripped and fell and had to be rushed off to the ER. And, it's autumn now, I don't think a nice dark neutral boot would be particularly unstylish with such a pretty wine-colored dress.
