Where to sell my stuff? I'm moving abroad and not returning.

Hi, everyone. I'm interested in selling all of my belongings--two beds, nice chairs, a dresser, a dinner table set, and high chairs--due to an exciting cross-world move. Though I'm currently based in Utah, the bulk of my furniture is disassembled in a storage unit back in Ohio, and I'm expected to leave the US in August 2016. Any tips on what sites to sell things on beyond the typical Craigslist or cosignment shops? I don't anticipate returning stateside anytime soon. Thanks much.

If you have a Facebook account and friends/family/acquaintances back in Ohio, you might post about your items on Facebook. I've seen that work for people before.

Unless it's very special collectible vintage furniture, I'd let go of any idea you might have that you're going to get a big chunk of cash out of this, and do whatever is most expedient. Since it's probably not worth the cost of a trip to Ohio to sell the stuff yourself, you'll probably have to pay someone else to do that work for you. Do you have any underemployed friends near the storage unit who'd be willing to manage the Craigslisting for you in exchange for, oh, maybe a 60% cut of whatever they can get for it?

Best answer: If these are REALLY nice, Craigslist is probably the easiest way to go, but given that you're not physically located in that space, probably offloading them to one place is best. If they're just moderately nice, you might want to consider just donating to Goodwill and taking the tax write-off.

Best answer: I don't know if they dabble in lots as small as yours or not, but you might want to get in touch with Everything But The House -- they do online estate sales.
