Where can I find people to play Twilight Struggle with in SF?

Exactly as it says on the tin. Where do all the Twilight Struggle players congregate around here?

I'm super new to TS and board games in general, and I've never been to a board game meetup or that sort of thing before. While I know about Gamescape, I have no idea what to expect -- is it cliquey? I don't want to walk in feeling like I have no boardgame nerd cred -- so I'm wondering if there are any gaming groups or other like communities around in SF or perhaps the East Bay that tend to be on the especially welcoming side to newbies like me. Maybe there are even some Mefites into TS about who'd be willing to show me the ropes too!

Anyway, thanks in advance for enabling me to commit the many hilarious DEFCON suicides that inevitably await me in the future.

I've never played it, but I do know that Twilight Struggle is a two player game that takes 3 hours to play, which makes it a poor fit for a gaming group type setting.

For general board games, there's a large and friendly Wednesday night thing every week at Endgame in downtown Oakland. I hardly ever go any more, though. I haven't been to Gamescape's game nights so I can't compare them.

(... And have played a few games myself, though by no means an expert.)

I met up with a mefite earlier this year to play TS after it was the subject of a front page post. I've played it three times, am interested in playing it more, although I will need to do a strategy / rule refresh. I'm down in San Jose but I can get around anywhere in the bay really if you want to do a game.

And yeah as aubilenon brought up it's not very conducive to board game meetups. I had never even seen a copy at private or public board game events until I bought a copy for myself.

Here you go until the real app comes out. Sanctioned by the game developers, automated and super easy. Tons of active people.

People do async games or live games. It will fit any time constraints.

Also everyone I've played on there has been super nice. If you want a friendly game, feel free to PM me and I could give you tips (or not if you prefer) after. But generally, TS is in the circles I've experienced known for it's deep thinking but friendly clientele. It is not a game for chest beating. Many games I've played online or in real life have ended with both of us wondering around certain turns and actions at the possible fracturing outcomes which is kind of why it's one of the best games ever created.
