Suggestions for making a "Back to the Future"-themed party awesome?

What can I add to a themed Back to the Future party to make it awesome?

Hey gang,

I'm throwing a party on Oct. 21 to celebrate my favourite trilogy, the Back to the Future films. We'll screen at least one movie, I've prepped some trivia and I'm going to have a NES on-hand with the BTTF2 and BTTF3 games (as well as Wild Gunman if I can swing it). We'll have a sculpted Delorean cake and a replica of Uncle Joey's jailbird cake as well. I'm thinking about a green screen so people can take photos on my hoverboard replica.

Got any other ideas to make my party awesome? Some fan-art or related YouTube videos I can screen? Any games, products or memorabilia that should make an appearance? Ideas for party favours or activities?

The fruits of your imagination will be much appreciated, and of course you're invited if you're in or near Calgary, AB!

I think it was here on metafilter that I read it but the totally plausible fan theory that the current incarnation of Donald Trump is really just the future version of alt-1985 Biff Tannen. I realize you're in Canada and not the US but maybe that will give you enough distance for it to be a funny thing you can roll into your party instead of something that sends you off weeping into the corner in despair.

Best answer: you can give away a blu-ray copy of the trilogy and have people put tickets in a "save the clock tower" can.

Wear your clothes inside out. Framed pictures of scientists. "Enchantment Under the Sea" decorations. Chuck Berry on soundtrack.

Best answer: Re-elect Mayor “Goldie” Wilson posters!
(A few 8 1/2 x 11 full-color print-outs would work if you don't want to buy a poster.)

Here's the Youtube video for that.

Have one room be 1955, one room be 1985 and one be 2015. Oh and a wild west room too.

Watch videos of Eric Stoltz as Marty. They're available all over the place.

By the way, Eric Stoltz is still in the movie.

Best answer: I once attended a midnight screening of BTTF and was handed a perfect replica of a 'Save the clocktower!' flyer by someone who had no affiliation with the theater, they just wanted to ensure that we moviegoers had a great time.

That's been saved in my memorabilia drawer for a few years now.

OH HOWEVER, I MUST SAY: it did NOT have a handwritten phone number on the back, so if you're going for authenticity don't forget that particular touch.

(also Tab still totally exists, at least here in the New Orleans area)

If you're crafty, you could try to replicate the table-top model of the area around the clock tower that 1955 Doc Brown uses to demonstrate how he would generate 1.21 gigawatts. Bonus points if the model car catches fire and runs into some oily rags.

Response by poster: The party was amazing and I definitely used a lot of these ideas, including Uncle Joey's cake and reaching out to the local DeLorean owner's group. Thanks, y'all!
