Non-3D printed custom action figures?

Is there any place that sells configurable action figure parts? Like a LEGO set of He-Man parts?

Like, you could pick from different torsos, different heads, different legs, different accessories, etc but NOT one where you submit a photo to have yourself as the model? I just think it would be fun to have a pile of legs, arms, torsos, heads etc that you could put together anyway you like. I know there are toys out there now at Target and such but I am looking for more of a piecemeal set up.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I'm not sure there's a one-stop shop for this, but here's a collection of links to custom toy collectors/makers sites, including a bunch of DIY customization links. Some people have set up their own webshops for their parts productions, including Raging Spoon. Figure Realm has a ton of tutorials for building custom action figures.

Not sure if this is quite what you're looking for, but Stikfas are fun and easily customizable. They are sold in specific sets, but the parts are interchangeable, and each set comes with bits you can swap out to change things up.

I'd also look into the Glyos system as well. Not only are there sets of bits, but there have been a few old school toy lines rebooted using it that are compatible with the parts.
