Clearly, cats are good for bathrobe manufacturers.

At 3 1/2 months, Allan Armadale (obligatory photo with his sleeping brother Ozias Midwinter) has figured out that if he wants to knead energetically (and does he ever), the human needs to be wearing a very thick bathrobe. At present, the human has a suitable robe that she got from Marks & Spencer, but Allan and his two siblings are on track to doing it in. Previous Asks have, for some reason, prioritized humans instead of felines. Requirements inside.
1) The robe has to be thick.
2) Actual fabric is not that important. Allan is happy to knead velour, fuzzy polyester (what this M&S robe is), etc.
3) I'm not particularly interested in aesthetics--it's just me and the cats, here. Longer is probably better.
4) The robe should not cost $100, as it will die an unpleasant death (for the robe, not the cats) in a year or two. This is not what I have in mind, for example.

I have a terrycloth robe like this one, which is very thick and suitable for kneading (although it is possible that their current product is not as think as they used to be). Bonus: it comes with a long dangling cat toy attached to it which is great for chasing if the helper monkey doesn't remember to tie it responsibly around their waist.
I am also a fan of using additional throws or blankets on the lap for kneading purposes.

We got some microfiber throws during a Christmas sale some years back that the cat likes to creepily kneed and drool on. They're genius. Wear it like robe or make a snuggee.

IKEA has a nice plain white cotton woven terry one now for about 30- 35$ I think? Very classic and absorbent.
My cats seem to like it just fine.

This is Olivia Marie. This is her favorite robe. Among the delights in her world is sharpening her claws to needle points, and this robe is like a warm cuddly armor. Bonus, they appear to be on sale right now!

Good luck on the robe quest. I have a 30 year old, thick terry cloth robe from Victoria's Secret that needs periodic trimming of the threads that have been kneaded out by my cats.
