Not quite as fun as naming new pets or babies

I recently caught the archery bug, and after shooting on some shared equipment in classes/on a range, decided to take the plunge and order my own bow. I feel like this is a piece of equipment deserving of its own name. Metafilter, help me name my bow!

The bow in question is a Samick Sage ( pictured here), 25# draw. Other potentially pertinent points:

1 - I am very much a beginner, and don't show much natural talent, so my chances of being competitive at any level are low. Thus, names such as 'BEAST', 'CHAMP', etc would be cruelly sarcastic.

2 - This will be used for targets only, I have negative interest in hunting.

3 - Right now, the frontrunner is Clara (Bow); I am tending towards female people names. If anyone has roller derby-ish punny names, that would be awesome (a riff on David Bowie that I'm not clever enough to come up with, maybe?). These aren't requirements in any way, just guidance on my current thoughts.

Best answer: Female bow, Recurve / Takedown? Surely something that abbreviates to:

I think you should wait until you have it and have gotten used to it. How can you name it before you make friends?

This Machine Kills Haybales

a riff on David Bowie
Can you order it with a white finish and call it the Thin White Duke? (Bonus: add two colors of googly eyes)

Best answer: Clara (Bow) is perfect. Short, catchy, and a just a little bit jokey.

Pingu.

Because a bow goes kinda "PING!" when you let it go.
And because Pingu is an adorable claymation honking penguin.

Response by poster: After using the bow for a while , I decided to stick with my original idea, Clara. But - I was not familiar with Artemis, and so that's now on my list of tattoo ideas, so my question was not a waste! Thanks all!
