Myths for kids

I want to introduce my four year old to (origin) myths from around the globe. Looking for a charmingly illustrated book, It doesn't have to be comprehensive (of course) but should have a decent international spread. Does this exist?

In The Beginning. It doesn't have a lot of illustrations, but the ones that it has are lovely watercolors. It is a Newberry Honor Book as well.

D'Aulaires Book of Greek Myths, D'Aulaires Book of Norse Myths. Not comprehensive in terms of international scope, but absolutely gorgeous, and sure to ignite a lifelong fascination with mythology. Children's librarian here, and mom to a mythology-obsessed youngster.

Seconding D'Aulaires, even though they don't quite meet your specifications. I had both of the ones guinea_pig_club mentioned (and still do!) and read them endlessly as a kid.

We have enjoyed Usborne's myth and legends books.
