Facebook chat (me up)

A few weeks ago, I was using Facebook messenger on my desktop, and I clicked on a link that took me to what looked like an app for my browser. It looked completely different from just being logged into Facebook and having clicked on the "See all" in the messages tab. I can't figure out how to get back to that page. Please help.
Response by poster: Could you explain what it looked like?
It wasn't Facebook chat. It was outside of the Facebook application. It looked a bit similar to having my inbox, only it was just my inbox and not my inbox within Facebook.

Facebook Messenger is a separate app, is that what you mean?

Maybe? It was in my computer browser though, not on my phone. It was like having the Kindle Cloud Reader open in my browser, except that it was Facebook messenger.

Best answer: messenger.com? (I use it all the time!)

Response by poster: Yes! Thanks you! (Is this not actually affiliated with Facebook?)

It's Facebook-owned and -operated. They have a Messenger smartphone app for some reason, and this is just the web version of it for some other damn reason.

I use the web app to send and receive messages without being distracted by Facebook brain drugs, which I seem to be susceptible to.

If it looked like a bunch of your friends' pictures going up the right side, you turned on facebook chat. You can turn that on and off in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
