Venue Booking In NYC

its been so long since I had to book spaces for shows in NYC that I have no idea who to even contact for possibly hosting a one man show later this year -- What small venues in NYC should I be talking to about hosting a one man show at somewhat last moment (less than three month notice)? Seating capacity round 60 - think bar with generous back room rather than theatre.

You might want to try Gotham Comedy Club. They have a small room that seats 75.

Oh, gosh! I'm right in the middle of this. Some of the venues we have at FringeNYC include:

The Drom: Usually for music, but they're hosting shows.
Under St. Marks (which holds about 40 people, I believe.)
Celebration of Whimsy, which is a bit bigger (88 seats), but where my show is playing in a week.

Good luck!

Maybe Don't Tell Mama? A friend did a Kurt Weill cabaret booking a while back and had a room about that size.

Q.E.D. Astoria might be a fit?

Hank's Saloon (South Brooklyn), Bar Matchless (Williamsburg), Cake Shop (LES), Grand Victory (Williamsburg), and Bowery Electric (LES) are all divey music venues in the small stage + long bar format that you might want to check out as well. These are the places where my friends' jam bands play shows.

Well, my theatre brain went to The Tank, buuutttt for a bar + back room, I love Barbes. And Jalopy is somewhere in between. But it really depends on what kind of show you're planning.

The PIT downstairs might be pretty good, depending on the feel you're going for.

Or maybe the Rock Shop, also in Park Slope?

And there's always good ol' Pete's Candy Store.
