Do Apple stores replace cracked iphone screens?

I dropped my iPhone. The screen cracked. Can I take it into an Apple Store and have them fix it there? Or do I need to send it in to them for repair? Hoping to do this same day if possible.
I'm in NYC if relevant.
Best answer: In my experience, they can replace a screen while you wait, but you may not be able to get an appointment same day.

Best answer: Yep, they'll do it while you wait. I think it took about an hour when I had my iPhone 6 screen replaced earlier this year. (If it's a really old model it's probably worth calling and talking to a human to see if they have the part.)

Best answer: Sure they do. Usually it's same day service: you drop it off, they'll email you when it's ready for pickup. I had my screen replaced a couple of months ago, cost is around $120 or so.

Best answer: Yes I had my iPhone 6 screen replaced a couple of months ago. I made an appointment online and had to wait a couple days for their first opening. The appointment itself took about 1.5 hours and cost $129.

Best answer: A friend had his replaced at an Apple store yesterday and it was $140 (they replace the screen, check for damage, etc.). No appointments were available in advance via the Apple Store App so we went in without one. The wait was two hours. If you can wait until appointments are available it should be faster.

Best answer: I went to Dr. Brendan's on St. Mark's Place and they replaced my shattered screen in less than an hour. The cost was way more reasonable than the Apple Store would have charged.

Some types of cracks they will even replace the glass for free. They an do it same-day, but they can't do it same-day if you make your appointment within an hour or two of closing time, so don't do that.

Best answer: As above they do. It is faster if you make a Genius Bar appointment.

I have done a lot of research on this recently, as I broke my 5s screen and then my boyfriend broke the screen on his 6 plus, and for the 5s it was cheaper to go to a non-Apple-store place, but with the 6 plus it's cheaper to go to the Apple Store. The Apple Store option was slower though.

While you're there, buy an iPhone case to protect your screen in the event of future drops.
