Cheap parking in Sydney near The Star for two nights?

I'm unexpectedly staying at Astral Tower and Residences at The Star from this Sunday until Tuesday. Is there a cheap overnight-plus-day-plus-overnight parking alternative nearby?

Parking is $55 per night at The Star. The motel was a Wotif mystery hotel deal, and I'm thrilled about it... but I'm not thrilled about parking costing about a third of the accommodation cost.

I don't plan to use my car while I'm there, I'll be using public transport. I'd like to be able to park it on Sunday afternoon and leave it there until I pick it up on Tuesday morning.

Sydney-siders, do you have any suggestions?

Park somewhere near the lighteail for free - it'll take you right to the heart of star city for about $4. Dulwich hill station has some free parking near the station, but there's probably something a bit closer.

If you join the casino's rewards program you can get free parking if you gamble for an hour. Although you don't actually need to gamble for an hour as such, you just need to have an open rating. So find a friendly dealer and ask them to leave you in for an hour. Or get it swiped in at a few busy tables and someone will just forget and leave it swiped in.

Drove past waratah mills lightrail station. There's lots of free street parking about 3seconds walk from the station. Handy to parramatta rd, if you're coming in from the west.

Response by poster: Thanks for your suggestions, but in the end I was too tired and lazy (and yearning for a shower as I was covered in Rookwood mud) to go out of my way. So I sucked it up, parked at the Star... and the bill on Tuesday when I checked out was only $35.70.

I know not why. But I'm not complaining.
