Is it possible to set up Hotmail to only display unread messages?

I tend to keep some messages unread for some extended period of time (mostly "hey check this out" stuff), and when I clean out my inbox I have to dig very deep in the past to weed them out.

Best answer: I think if you click on the little envelope icon at the top of the columns, it should sort based on the read status. I don't have enough messages in my inbox to confirm that, but it should work.

smackfu: The only way I know how to do it is to go to the Search box, and type "is:unread" (without the quotes).

Best answer: Thanks, that put me in the right direction. I ended up with "in:inbox in:unread", otherwise I got a lot of hits in the Archived mail. (Interestingly, you can't even enter that in the "normal" search UI, because unread and inbox are exclusive options.)

Response by poster: Alright, that seems to settle both flavours of webmail. It's a shame that I can't add tags, or I would add "gmail".
