Is there an automated way to keep track of time in Gmail Account.

I access four different email accounts from my gmail web browser. One of these accounts is for a job I have providing customer service for a business. I am supposed to keep track of the time I spend because I get paid hourly. Is there any automated app or way to track the time spent with a specific gmail account? Using chrome on Windows 8.1 Thank you.

I don't know of any apps, but for maximum flexibility, is it possible for you to only access the work gmail account with a different browser?

This extention for Chrome looks like it might do the trick. It's called Rescue Time, and it seems to be able to give a detailed analysis of web sites visited and for how often. It looks like it may do this by how long a particular tab is open, but if you only have an email tab open when you are using it, perhaps it will work for you. I'm not sure if it will work with repeater email accounts if it considers it the same program, but it looks like it might be sophisticated enough to know the difference and worth checking. Here's more information and detail.

I installed it to play around with it, but I can't get it to noticed different gmail accounts, as it organizes based on program. Even if I run the extension in different browser instances to try and get it to notice a different account.

Perhaps this isn't much of a help, but have you considered asking the business whether you could settle for an average number of hours per week which could then be adjusted? That way you wouldn't have to keep track of the exact time you spend.

You can access GMail via IMAP, which means you can use Thunderbird just for that account and use Rescue Time to track just that application.
