My New York relative needs a good meal

I will be going to dinner with my aunt who lives in NYC -I live in Atlanta (within the city or ITP). I would like to pick a restaurant that would be representative of our fine city. There are so many choices!!

She is staying in Buckhead but I live in East Atlanta and know the neighborhoods from here to there pretty well. Not looking for BBQ but something a little more upscale. She has no dietary restrictions and is a pretty cool gal.
She is the Dir of Marketing for the Metropolitan Opera but very laid back.
What have you found that tastes good, has some atmosphere and in the city?

I asked this question 5 years ago but so much has changed I need an update.

I liked Alma (downtown) very much when I was there recently.

South City Kitchen has always been my go-to for somewhat upscale, but still Atlanta-style southern cooking.

I know this is odd, but One Flew South is the best place I've eaten in Atlanta ever.

To me, nothing is more representative of our city than some of the weird Southern + Other Culture fusion places. Maybe Sobban? It's not too hard to get to from Buckhead, and I don't know that there is another restaurant quite like it anywhere.

Response by poster: Great suggestions! Thanks so much. South City Kitchen looks good as does Sobban. Oh and Alma!

Not for everyone, but I would not let a NYC aunt visit this town without a dinner at Mary Mac. It's good old-fashioned southern cooking, with fresh vegetables (tho cooked in the S fashion), and the atmosphere is pretty close to the old tea rooms.
