Are there any flat Greek islands?

Mr Shibori and I are planning a trip during the second half of September. We want sun, sea, and food...relaxation but not isolation. Our first choice is Santorini but I am recovering from a leg injury and there seem to be a lot of steps in Santorini.

Even the hotels themselves have steep staircases going from room to room. I am able to walk but I do need to take it easy. Can you suggest any places not more than a four-hour flight from London which might meet our needs? It doesn't have to be Greece but that would be nice. And if you can recommend any hotels that would be doubly nice. Thank you! Price is not really a problem...expensive is fine.

I was also going to suggest Crete. When I was there, I stayed in Paleochora, which is a bus ride away from Chania, but was also pretty flat.

You're onto it here; I would certainly not recommend Santorini with a leg injury. It is, as you say, step central, though amazing in many, many other ways.

I spent about 9 months on Mykonos way back when. The village is gorgeous in that Cycladean way, and it's mostly pretty flat. Great place, but crazy busy (or was, back in the early 90s) during the spring/summer.
