Where can I set off fireworks near Nashville, TN?

This year for July 4th I want to set off some fireworks for the first time (sparklers and the like) so I purchased some fireworks from a store nearby about half an hour away from Nashville where it's legal to sell them but I know don't have anywhere to set them off where I live since Davidson county does not allow people set off fireworks but are legal to own.

So where can I go to legally set them off near Nashville? I know some of the nearby counties allow fireworks to be set off but can I just go to a park and set them off? Please help!

I doubt they'd be legal in a public park. Do you have any friends out in Williamson or Rutherford County? Someone outside of any city limits who'd be willing to host you?

Weather permitting, of course..it's looking like a good chance of rain for the 4th around here. :(

Here's a good list. Best bet would be to find a friend who lives in one of the nearby counties and set them off at their house.

I haven't lived there in the last few years, but I know that Murfreesboro wasn't very vigilant about enforcing the no firework law, but again, that may have changed a great deal in the last five years.

I set off fireworks in my yard in Nashville multiple times a year (like, rockets and mortars and real stuff) and actually didn't know it was illegal. I doubt you would get in trouble as long as you weren't annoying neighbors or being particularly dangerous (this is not legal advice).

From teleri025's link "Last year, only four residents were cited for shooting fireworks on July 4."

Murfreesboro is pretty picky now. Or they say they are.

Last year or so some local Emmy-award-winners launched mortars directly at patrol cars and that was pretty much the end of big fireworks (sold or used) in the city limits.

Yeah we always set off fireworks here in Nashville. Sparklers are never going to be an issue, btw. And if the others are pretty tame, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Just be safe and stand back!

In North Nashville's less affluent neighborhoods, there are fireworks set off in people's yards, randomly all year long - recently, with tragic results.
