Gmail, meet Thunderbird. Now work and filter!

I have an awful lot of email filtered/labelled and filed within Gmail. When I download it via POP using Thunderbird, is there any way of it automatically going into specific folders within Thunderbird? :)

This is why people are demanding IMAP support in Gmail, which might be down the road.

But you can definitely set up Tbird filters to do a lot of this but you won't be able to automagically replicate your Gmail folder structure so far as I know.

Response by poster: So how do I set up Thunderbird filters to do just that? I'm assuming they'll all download the same way, and with no flags for say read/unread ?

There's nothing in the headers indicating how you've tagged your messages? Because if there is you could make a complex set of rules to file it.
