iOS games for building, not fighting

Are there games for iOS similar to Animal Crossing on the DS?

I enjoy games that involve collecting resources and building things, but no combat. Basically, Clash of Clans without getting attacked all the time. Any suggestions?

Simpsons: Tapped Out (free, with optional in-game purchases). I'm not a Simpsons fan and haven't even ever seen a full episode, but the game is a blast. Lots of collecting money and building up your town. I don't usually even read the stuff the characters are saying to each other, I just send them to work to make me money, buy stuff, and arrange my town.

SimCity? Or TinyTower? Or any one of a bunch of other city-builder games. They're all tap-stuff-and-wait games though.

There's tons of games along these general lines, but most of them are tap-and-wait games that are paced to get increasingly frustrating unless you give them money, but some are definitely better than others.

I'll second Mona's suggestion of Simpsons Tapped Out (also as a non-Simpsons-watcher). Another one that held my attention of a good while was Tiny Castle which involves breeding monsters, and does technically have combat, but it's super-simple tap-at-about-the-right-time, and there's no multiplayer aspect.

A little further outside the tap-and-wait genre, I like Townsmen quite a bit. You build up production buildings that consume the outputs of the earlier buildings, etc. and your little villagers move all the resources around. There's a series of challenges on product a certain amount of some late-game resource in a certain amount of time, or you can just play more sandbox-style.

But the direction I'd really advise you to look is Kairosoft games. The UI isn't great (they're clearly still working on a model from when they made dumbphone games) and pixel art is your only option, but the gameplay absolutely makes up for it! They're paid games (although a lot of them have free demo versions) and there's no in-app purchases. You build out a little town (or clothing store, or hot springs resort, etc.) over time, but there's not much waiting on progress bars. The ones I liked the best were "Pocket Clothier" , "Oh! Edo Towns", and "Hot Springs Story", but I've liked pretty much all of them.

Yep, I'm the girl with almost 400 apps on her phone. What?
