ASKING FOR A FRIEND: She is trying to remember the name of an old picture book that was about an invisible dog. We think it was originally published in the 30s, then re-released in the 90s at Costco as part of a set of three picture books, one of which was about a lion.
Her description: "The book started with three dogs all together, each with their own doghouse with (I believe) their name on it. The other two dogs were completely visible. I remember they said something to the effect of that they knew the invisible dog was real just like they knew the wind was real, even though they couldn't see it. At some point two kids, a girl and a boy, come. They look in the doghouses but think that the third doghouse is empty. I think the kids take the other two dogs home with them, leaving the invisible dog behind.
I can't remember much else... I think the invisible dog maybe comes across a bird. I do remember that he sort of goes on this journey and slowly, piece by piece, becomes visible."
