Recommend a laptop for running Pro Tools Elite?

I am looking to purchase a dedicated Windows laptop for running Pro Tools Elite for use in a public program. I don't know much about computer hardware, and I know nothing about audio software. Can anyone help me out with some laptop recommendations?

I'm having trouble finding something I'm confident will be the best buy for this project. I'm finding surprisingly little written about this online, and most of that looks a bit outdated. Also, some of the technical requirements I see listed are a little less detailed than I'm used to.

This laptop wouldn't be doing other things in the background or be used for other purposes. We are just looking for something that can run Pro Tools Express with excellent performance. Beyond that, there aren't really too many preferences.

I haven't been given specifics on our budget, but I'm hoping for something around $500, give or take a bit. From what I can tell, it looks like that should be realistic, but I may be off.

Any specific recommendations of Windows laptops would be very much appreciated. Or, in place of specific recommendations, if someone could lay out some general spec guidelines (i3 or i5, number of cores, etc.) that would be helpful, too.

Thanks, all!

I'm not sure which version you're planning on running, but the system requirements for 12 are here. Also on that page are a (short) list of qualified machines. The only laptops are pretty high-end Dells (of a vintage). Basically, this:
IntelĀ® PC with Windows 7 64-bit (Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate Editions) or Windows 8/8.1 (Standard and Pro Editions)
IntelĀ® Core i5 processor
4GB RAM (8GB or more required for video playback)
Internet connection for installation
15GB disk space for installation
USB-port for iLok 2 authorization
USB-port or FireWire-port for ASIO-supported audio device
Supports 64-bit AAX plug-ins in Pro Tools
You might be able to get all that for ~$500, but you'd be on the very low end of the requirements.

Response by poster: From what I can tell, we are getting Pro Tools Express that comes packaged with a Fast Track Duo DAW. The requirements for that seem to be much less than they would be for the more more complete versions, as I understand it.

This is where some of the confusion comes in. But as far as I can tell, that would be the case.

Assuming it is that Express package, are there any machines anyone can recommend?

Don't get a cheap laptop as they skimp on parts; don't get an AMD processor (Intel i5 quad core is good advice). 8 gig memory is plenty, decent size hard drive.
