I think I screwed up with this Verizon Edge plan

A couple of months ago, I ditched my Verizon iPhone 5s to get an iPhone 6 Plus, which I (stupidly) did under their Edge agreement. Now, I realize I'd prefer a smaller phone. Please help me think through my options.
Right now, I owe about $850 on the 6 Plus, which should let me buy it outright. I can also pay $620 and sign another Edge agreement on another phone, but I'd have to give them the 6 Plus back. It seems like my best option is to pay the $850 and sell the 6 Plus to recoup as much as I can, and then just buy a replacement phone used.
Are there any other options? Can you think of something I'm not thinking of?
Thanks, as always.

Many people would trade the 6 plus for their 6, and add some cash. That might be the simplest route.
