What news and breaking news technology sites do you visit daily?

What news and breaking news technology sites do you visit daily? For example, where did you hear about Lenovo?

Are there some that are moving up in prominence and coverage, and others that are sinking? Of these, which have the best communities, with intelligent and informed comment threads?

Ideally, there would be a MeFi for just for technology news, but until then...

Much thanks!

I heard about Lenovo on Ars Technica, these day a Condé Nast property I understand but still turning out interesting stuff on occasion.

Seconding Ars Technica. They're something of an institution, really.

The obvious one is Slashdot.

It's not high profile and fairly domain specific, but lwn.net is excellent. I've been subscribed for probably 10 years now. Covers mostly Linux (and gets very in-depth), but also plenty of general FOSS and security/privacy issues. Commenters are usually actual practitioners rather than obnoxious know-it-alls like you find on more popular sites.

My suggestion is any of the subreddits on reddit. Redditors link to all sorts of news and ideas on zillions of topics. You can follow the links, (look at the kittens), read and make comments. A really great site for all interests.

Caution, if you look at reddit unfiltered (that is, you have not chosen subreddits of your interests) you will see all sorts of stuff that will not interest you.
