help me find the name and whereabouts of a mountain bike downhill competition in (i think) south america

i was talking to a friend last night about a mountain bike competition that i'd seen on tv but i couldn't remember where it was or the name of the competition.

it was unusual in that the mountain bikers went downhill through the centre of a towns closely built together houses (the town looked to be built like in the style of a brazilian favela), going down paths and through open buildings etc. i think it was in south america (but can't be sure). can anyone help me with the name of competition or the place?

thanks!

Could it be Giants of Rio? I know it includes hangliding and surfing but the bicycle section sounds very similar to what you are describing. Plus I know it was televised.
